Try telling us we're not adorable...

...betcha can't do it! :)

Another Bath

Child abuse

Did the title scare you? Sorry. But seriously look what Dad is making Dane do! I happen to know for a fact the he did not want to hook 'em.

He wanted to gig 'em. Look how much more naturally it comes :)

Sanity

I was told by the nurses in the NICU that this is a no, no... but.... at 5am in the morning while I was taking on a night feeding by myself I could not resist. The boys were able to eat while I pumped and we were all back asleep in 30 minutes. I liked them a lot that next morning, even referred to them as little angels a time or two. They were just as impressive the next day as they let me clean the kitchen while they ate.
Before you go reporting me to CPS you should know that I never leave them alone while they are eating this way and every once in a while a little independence is good for all of us. :)

The best diapers in my opinion.

Inspiration for this post:
Gross, huh? The culprit, you ask: Huggies Diapers

Our relationship with diapers is fairly new but in this short time frame we have learned a lot - the hard way. The boys started with Pampers in the hospital but thanks to my mom and her stocking us up on diapers with every coupon she clipped we had quite a wide variety of diapers to try once we brought them home. The first one we ripped into when we got home was the Huggies preemies. Things go well for a day and then we take them to their first doctor's appointment and when we pull Dane out of his car seat we find his onesie and car seat liner are soaked. Strike one. We discontinue use and plan to return the Huggies that we had stock piled for tried and true Pampers. We get them all returned but two packs that Target or Babies 'R Us did not carry.
These packs were sitting nearest to the edge of our back stock so when Rae Jean, my mother-in-law (who has been graciously watching the babies for a month now), needed new diapers she grabbed one of the packs. She mentioned one evening when I got home from work that Dane had had a blow out in his swing and she was washing the cover. I found that interesting since we had never had an exploding diaper, despite all the stories that we'd heard. Figured it was the Huggies. Wanted to throw them out, hated to waste the money. Rae Jean seemed to think it would have been a blow out no matter what diaper he was wearing so we kept them. Strike 2.
Then on my watch I noticed Dane (Why is it always Dane?) stinking up a little storm. I grabbed him to check for poo and oh my lord if it wasn't all over his back. (pictured above) Not impressed Huggies, not impressed. Strike 3.
I'm officially a Pampers girl. And for all you mothers out there, Babies 'R Us is having quite the deal until March 3, when you buy any three Proctor and Gamble products (Pampers diapers and wipes, bounty, dreft, charmin) you get a $15 gift card back.
Everyone seriously looked at me like I was nuts when I walked out Wednesday night with 4 boxes of 184 diapers and two jumbo boxes of wipes. And the even crazier part that's just about a month's supply! Ekkkk.

Out with the old, in with the new

We're officially old, below is Darrell and my Christmas gift to each other! It really is a godsend that we can now fit every one's drink ware in at once (see wine glasses pictured below). Hallelujah.

Old:
New:
By the way, that is one day's worth of bottles and pump supplies. Ekkk. Thank the lord my mother-in-law is here and taking care of dish duty during the day.

Behind the scenes at the photo shoot.

Hi Mom!

Don't worry you're on the right blog. My co-worker, Kaleigha, the best publications editor ever, spruced the space up a bit.
Ever since my mom left she has been diligently checking the blog every morning from Scotland and unfortunately has not been greeted by any new posts. Therefore every morning I get a reminder to update the blog because she misses her grand babies, so this ones for you Grammie Lin.. Pictured below Dane was crying, "come save me Grammie, Mom and Dad are mistreating me! And please tell Dad that I happen to be wearing a very sweet night gown NOT a dress!!!"

Baby Timeout

So "they" say that the best gift that you can give your kids is parents that love eachother. I recently received all our wedding photo proofs from our photographer and I thought I would mix up the blog a bit. It's been all about the babies for a while, because well they are just so dang cute! I say that as Dane is here laying in my lap veiying for "cutest baby in America" award and in my mind his only real competition is his identical brother who's laying in Dad's lap! His Dad, who still takes my breath away even after a sleepless night of night feedings times two and my first day back to work. That is right, today was my first day back in the office. It went better than expected. I was so glad to be back in touch with my friends/co-workers. It was a great feeling to be thinking about professional things and be strategic about things other than changing and feeding two babies as effienctly as possible. Not sure if I posted the wedding pic as an excuse to say that I heart my husband or if I posted nice things about Darrell as an excuse to post one of my favorite wedding pictures... either way...here you are. Oh and can I have that body back now? If not now at least in time for the BFF, Lauren's wedding in July and the sister, Lara's wedding in August! I'm the Maid of Honor in both and I'm getting super excited. Okay, it's offical this is the most random post in the world... I'm going to bed. Goodnight everyone!

Clever Aunt Lara

While we were snowed in we walked to the strip center down the road for entertainment. Wo-hoo! We went into the Dollar store to get stocking stuffers, disappointed with all the crap, Lara came up with the brillant idea to get everyone a candy to match their personalities.

Devin got runts since he's a whole pound lighter than his brother.

Dane got Jelly Bellies since he has a jelly little belly!Posted by Picasa

Pictures with Santa

So these pictures were taking Christmas Eve, on which our power went out at 8am, so please no comments on how pretty I look baseball cap and all. ;) You are more than welcome to notice how freakin' adorable the proud grandparents are though! Darrell was so bummed that he couldn't be there because he had to work, some day the boys will understand that someone's gotta work to pay Santa's salary.
